Huhuuu, this is my first small python script for the Nokia N900. It’s a command-line tool, which copies all events (SMS and IM messages, phone calls) into an extra archive DB. This way, you can store all events by running the script, before you clean up your conversations and calling-history. Maybe a graphical widget and a tool to browse the archive as well as an automation to archive will follow next year… but if you want to do…

./logarchive.py … archive new events
./logarchive.py -l … summarize all events
./logarchive.py -d 'YYYY-MM-DD to YYYY-MM-DD' … summarize all events from ‘YYYY-MM-DD to YYYY-MM-DD’

Here is the script:

The paths to the event-logger DB and to the new event-archive can be changed at the top of the script:

EL_PATH = "/home/user/.rtcom-eventlogger/el.db"
ARCHIVE_PATH = "/home/user/.rtcom-eventlogger/el_archive.db"
